The Word Became Flesh

We give thanks for our ability to come together today! Thank you for giving us the heart and mindsets to gather together in Your holy name and a want to have a closer walk with you and to “know” you in a biblical sense meaning to be at one with You. Help us to put first things first and by doing so all the rest will flow according to Your diving order. Father, we want to “first fruits” You with the first of our time daily. We pray that You will work your perfect work in us, until the Glory of your countenance radiates forth in our day to day living and the ordering of our very thoughts.  We Thank you in advance for what you are about to show and share with us in this lesson. Jesus, You are simply too “Good” to ever be forgotten!
Let every heart say…. Amen
John “The Apostle” states in his account of “The Gospel” simply refered to himself as “The disciple whom Jesus loved“. We’ll get back to this point at the end of our lesson!
Gospel is an Old English word that means “good news”. It translates the Greek word euangelion (eu, “good” and angelion, “message”), which also gives us words like “evangelist” and is related to words like “angel”.

The Word Became FleshJohn 1:1-18

In our introductory lesson on Wed we hit some important points in The Gospel of John 1: 1-2. Today, we will continue deeper into John 1:1-18 by pulling out a few key verses to focus on.
REMINDER: We are following the format from The Message // Remix Pause Daily Reading Bible but you will find many of my “study” references to include The New Living Translation or NLT . A comparative reading of scripture text provides the deepest level of understanding for any reader.
My two favorite bible translations are The Amplified Bible and The New Living Translation. Together they usually provide me with the necessary information that I need to let go and allow the Holy Spirit‘s deeper insights and revelations to speak to me, then through me. So, here just below you will read text from The Message, The NLT and The Amplified Bibles for this lesson.
John 1:2-5 (NLT)

2 He existed in the beginning with God.

3 God created everything through him,

John 1:2-5 Amplified Bible

2 He was present originally with God.

3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.

4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.

5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

John 1:2-5 (MSG)

2 in readiness for God from day one. 3 Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing!— came into being without him. 4 What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. 5 The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.

Takeaway Points:

  • The Word express and gives form to all manifested and created life! The Word is one of the names we call Jesus Christ. HE is that central focal point in which all that is spiritually alive needs to continue to grow and flourish.
  • Even when we do not recognize or we’re ignorant of the “Truth” or the “Light” or the “Life” we are still unable to snuff out it’s existence and ultimate worth. The root word in ignorant is to ignore.
  • Living under a self form of hypnosis and ignoring the “Truth” does not change reality but instead it places the one under such practices of hypnosis in a self-contained world inside one’s own head where we can be little gods and make up our own rules. This a form of  self-deception or”miscreation” and using gifts that God has given us out of His image and likeness to push HIM away instead of drawing nearer.  Just as Jesus The Word, draws His power from the father, we can do nothing that is alive outside of Christ!
