Greeting in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

It is a wonderous, worshipfulled Wednesday!

It is now officially one day after Christmas and most are coming down from that mountain top high experience!

Christmas Day is a corporate experience and activity that we can join in and enjoy with others, but what I learned this Christmas that I can take with me and build upon for the rest of this year and into 2013 is this…..

God gives to us each and everyday like it is Christmas. And the deeper blessing is in us seeing these blessings. GOD gives so much that we are all a little short-sighted and unintentionally take many things for granted. But our joy would be so much fuller and vastly richer if we could really experience on purpose each moment of GOD wonderous treasures!

Since we weere created in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ we can on purpose show His generous nature each and every day of our lives. Now, I finally understand that we are more blessed when we give than when we receive.

To  give shows and demonstrates a place and space of bounty! One must have been given something before it can be poured upon others!

My heart sings because I no longer have to wait for the experience of Christmas to roll around once a year, I can now live in this sacred space 365 days each year when I choose to master my focus and place it on Jesus Christ, and when I am intentional in asking HIM to unsettle me so that I can awaken to seeing the sacred in everyday life and when I by giving to others I help to create an atmosphere where love is given the oxygen it needs to thrive in!

In HIS Great Love,

Jennifer Boddie

Wonderous Wednesay Devotional- Pushing Past External/Superficial Labels

” The number one problem in our world is alienation, rich versus poor, black versus white, labor versus management, East versus West… But Christ came to bring about reconciliation and peace.” ~ Billy Graham

ImagePushing Past External/Superficial Labels

Peeking behind GOD’s veil has been a fascination of mine for the last 12 years of my life!

I don’t know, perhaps/ maybe that is why HE called me to share HIS Word with others!

As an inspiring teacher what I have found is that God is the best teacher I know! He never ceases to use a moment or one life experience as a means of revealing more about HIMSELF us and HIS awesome plans for us separately and collectively.

I have a question for you ( my friends) today.

What if you were viewed as being of a lesser status by some faction in society; would you have the nerve the guts to go to said establishment without malice or anger in your heart and still petition for what your needs?

Mark 7:24-30 New Living Translation Second Edition

24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret.25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit,26 and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.

Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia,27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews.  It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”
28 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”
29 “Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.”30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.

This passage above has caused many to take offense by mentioning of the word dog as it pertains to people and the eating of scraps from under a table.

But this morning GOD gave me a lovely illustration of how food scraps in the hands of proficient homemaker can become her family’s next meal.Scraps are not the same as trash and can be skillfully woven together to make an eye please delicious meal!

And the mention of the word ‘dog’ refers to a spiritually unclean condition and at that time in history the oracles of GOD had not been shared with the rest of the world (gentiles) and were exclusive to the seed of Abraham or what is more commonly known as the Jews.

And it’s true, one would feed the family members first before feeding the family pet any of the left over scraps. Jesus was born Jewish and therefore the Jewish people represented family in terms of heritage purely on a physical plane of life.

Jesus Christ is able to do away with the strict adherence to so many outer ordinances in favor of a deeper revelation of their inner meaning because HE is the perfect fulfillment of all that the Law entailed!

And we as gentiles ( non Jewish by birth) are no longer seen as “unclean” spiritually when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Mark 7:17-23 New Living Translation Second Edition

17 Then Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowd, and his disciples asked him what he meant by the parable he had just used.18 “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you?19 Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)
20 And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you.21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

The Spiritual Emergency Room- Worship Wednesday Devotional

James 5:14 (NLT)

Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.

There comes a time in everybody’s life in which we come face to face with the fact that “if we had to pay for our spiritual health-care plan we would not be able to afford it!”

Why?

Because none of us has anything worth enough value to afford the Gifts of God.

Which brings me to why we are in need of Spiritual Health Care!

As I reflect on this matter ( The Holy Spirit is allowing me to see) clearly that often, when we teach and preach the Word of God we speak of sin from the perspective of those willfully sinning. That is, being enticed or tempted by situations, or people of a nun productive and destructive nature. But the key here is the person’s own ungodly desires getting the best of them.

However, we also deal with the presence of sin.

There are cases in which we are minding our own business “In The Lord”, looking and seeking only to glorify HIM and we find ourselves dealing with presence of sin in someone else either by physical, emotional or spiritual modalities.

In this case, I’m speaking of believer, firmly on his or her own spiritual path with our Lord could then find ourselves the victim of  an evil plot to come against our platform in which to minister.

In these type cases, the ministering person can quickly find themselves needing a Spiritual Transfusion, by means of a mad dash to go to God’s Spiritual Emergency Room!

In the SER ( Spiritual Emergency Room) we must first confess our sins known and unknown then medication is administered directly into our spiritual bodies through intercessory prayer, because in many cases sometimes we may be too weak to pray effectively for ourselves.

God sees intercessory prayer as one of the highest forms of prayer, because it is done in the spirit of Agape love and with sacrifice.

Intercessory prayer teeming with love acts as “milk” and is fastest and most easily assimilated.

So, the milk of the Word is… God’s unearned unconditional love!

Nothing or no-one can heal without HIS ( Jesus Christ) love.

This reminds us that the “gift” of Salvation is free because it is steeped in God’s heart filled love. It is this heart that devised the plan and method by which all men, women and children would be saved!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would sophisticated spiritual heavy weights need to hear these basic doctrinal things at least quarterly?

To continue to grow we need to move deeper into the ripeness and richness of God’s fruit of love.

That means first we need to take more of HIS love into our own souls ( not necessarily more advanced doctrinal information) then we will be in a position to better do whatever God has called us to do, with whatever our skill level happens to be on the behalf of others.

If you think I’m over playing this remember people do not care how much you know until they know how much you care:-)

Luke 4:39 (NLT) Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.

Me Myself and Lies Week 3 Introduction

Sure we all have certain preferences as far as physical clothing. But…. our inner issues can often clothe us as well.

What kind of clothing do your issues voice?

What would it take to have a change of perception about those issues?

What are some of the common concerns or fears people have regarding dealing with a long-standing issue?

The longer we deal with a condition the greater the impact and in many cases it affects more than one area of life.

In Mark 5:25-34 we find a woman with an issue of bleeding.

Before you read the text I want you to ask yourself these questions.

1. How might this woman’s issue of bleeding for 12 years have affected her social life?

2. How might this woman’s issue of bleeding for 12 years affected her own sense of self-worth?

3.Do you imagine that this woman felt strong physically and how might her on going lack of physical vitality effected her ability to carry on day-to-day work activities?

4. What kind of strain do you think her long-term ongoing issues of blood might have had on her marriage?

5. Last but not least when joy is low in our lives it absolutely affects our attitude and perceptions towards GOD.

No, maybe not to the extent of not loving GOD or worshiping HIM but prolonged suffering can distort our perceptions we can clearly see this displayed in the book of Job.

Now for the great news… Jesus does heal this woman…..

Mark 5:25-34 NLT

25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding.
26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse.
27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe.
28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.
30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”
31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it.
33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and told him what she had done.
34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”

  • Why do you think the bleeding woman was afraid to admit she was the one who had touched Jesus?

Let me take a stab at this question.

She considered ( thought and felt) herself of low status and rank due to her condition she was considered “unclean” by the social and spiritual standards of her day.

The traditions of men make void the Word of GOD!!!

When one lives in fear for so long and has been show very little kindness it is often easy to assume the worse. After all she devised this plan all on her own and had not spoken with Jesus. Perhaps she felt she was taking something from HIM that HE would not have given had she asked directly. But what we must realize is that nothing but love held Jesus to the cross and nothing but HIS love for us causes HIM to bestow us with a healing. Our faith does not have to be perfectly mature but a perfect seed. Within each seed GOD has placed the DNA for life to spring forth, under the right conditions!!

I’m sure this woman with the issue of blood had heard many wonderful things about Jesus and in her heart she had reached out to HIM spiritually before HE ever reached her geographical space physically.  Clearly within her heart GOD kept a space for her to properly receive HIS Son.

Had she been bitter instead of hopeful and then thankful she would have been in the presence of Jesus physically and missed out on a blessing that would change her life!

In what ways have you been thinking with your feelings and according the traditions of men?

Our feelings were designed by GOD to serve us and not meant for us to become their slave!

Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to give us deeper insight into how to have our feelings serve instead of enslave us.

Once you have prayed and inquired of The Holy Spirit share your insights with me right here on this blog:-)

I’d love to bask in the wisdom HE shares with you!!

Our lives by GOD’s design are to be bathed in HIS wisdom ( HIS thoughts, HIS Words and HIS perceptions) and not saturated sense of fragmentation.

Worship Wednesday- Me Myself and Lies Bible Study Mid Week Update

Did you know that Hebrew name Pharisee means separated ones?

What thoughts do you need to separate from?

There are many ways  to come by faulty thinking!

A painful event in your life, constantly being around negative speaking people etc.

Have you ever struggled with unproductive or negative the thoughts?

A “label” perhaps placed on you by someone else?

Or, even perhaps unkind names you have spoken to yourself in those difficult moments in life?

This “label” although it may have some factual basis should not place a “fate” on you less desirable than the label itself!

Perhaps, someone told you that you were average looking?

Or perhaps you were told that your eyes their color or shape were unattractive.

As a result of being told that … what kinds of things did you began to think or envision?

Ultimately, labels should drive us back to the Word of GOD to find and speak a “faith” statement.

Our thought closets craves God’s Word so that we can put on the mind of Christ!

Meditative Monday -Weekly Scripture Verse

1 John 3:2-3

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as HE is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Outside influences are not all that are marketed as being able to offer.

Carefully consider what you long for because as you mature you’ll realize that true richness is found in your relationship with Jesus Christ!!

Waking Up Scripture

Do you long to be really spiritually alive?

Then don’t just read this verse this week but commit to placing it in your heart  through meditation.

What do I mean by mediation?

It’s simple…….

Just take each word in this scripture verse and ponder its meaning by placing intensive focus on each word. Example …  Beloved ( ponder this word) even look it up in a dictionary if necessary to bring a deeper and richer awareness then commit to do the same with each of the following words. I promise ( if you will do this) the process begin wake up a dormant bible verses and help you to bring life to flat words resting in your mind and hearts.

Prayer……..

Lord Jesus, our hope is in You because we are your children.  We want to become all the You have made us to be so continue to work Your perfect process of sanctification in our lives. Let the beauty, purity and hope that is You (Christ) rise up within each of us each day this week and for the rest of our lives so that no matter what the fact of our circumstances are that we will rise up to see ourselves through the eyes of the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things yet to be seen ( faith). We look to You Lord in your infinite wisdom to provide all that we need for our journey at this time.

In the name above all other names Jesus Christ we pray… Amen!!

God,Man and Woman

Proverbs 30:18-19

There and three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a maiden.

There are many mysteries in life.

One being God! The one that is both knowable and unknowable.

Although I do not know him absolutely I can know him relationally to things that pertain to me and the world that I live in.

God made me and HE designed me to soar.

What does the eagle and I have in common?

The Lord provides the under current for the eagle’s wings and HE provides the very Spirit and breath to lift me above all of my problems and maps me a course around my enemies.

To make an enemy of someone it has to start in our heads and heart. I don’t know about you but I don’t spend time in prayer and reading the Word daily to come away with’ snake thinking‘!!

A snake slithers, and withers around in the dust on the ground.

Hiding in the grass and looking for an opportunity to strike!

Is this what you want?

The Spirit of GOD does not make enemies out of anyone but loves and goes about walking out his or her God given purpose in the face of obstacles and traps that the enemy tries to set-up!

Learning how to stay focused on what is most important in all situations is… glorifying GOD and believing HIS Word is what building eagle status in the Kingdom of GOD is all about!

Flying higher and higher!!!

Yes, there are times when feeling tossed about as a ship on the high seas is likely to happen while on this God given mysterious journey.

And when you dare to exclaim “Lord, GOD, Jesus
… I want to dedicate myself back to YOU for your Glory honor and praise buckle your seat-belt because life as you know it is going bye-bye!! But even in this being tossed to and fro offers a deeper opportunity to trust and depend on Jesus Christ.

Love, sweet love can bring forth strength we never knew we had.

God as it relates to HIS children will die on a cross for their sins and a man as it relates to his wife, a mother as it relates to her children can often do things she never imagined possible and

Ladies don’t get made at your man for putting you and your relationship and alone time with him a bit before the kids.

But wait… Before you stone me let me try and explain:-)

The best way to ensure security for your children emotionally and spiritually is for you and your husband to have a solid relationship meaning spending time with him minus the kids. But this only works when the relationship is deeply grounded in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Okay, lets get real.. What is eros (sexual love) with our agape (Godly and unconditional love)? Selfishness and lusting in most cases

But, then what is agape love in marriage without eros?

I won’t answer that one directly.. I’ll let you fill in that blank (wink- wink)!!!

A man built by God’s Holy Design is at his best when he is afforded the opportunity to bring forth his God given qualities to provide for and be the spiritual covering for his wife! Women don’t totally rob your man of this functioning in your lives by doing so, you would be missing and rejecting the best part of what GOD has given him to give to you:-)

Men need respect, and physical affection and women need emotional and physical security and need to know that they are love unconditionally before they blossom.

Deep down I think all men want to be a knight in shinning armor for his wife at least once or twice in the lifetime of their marriage!

Thought For Today…..

Don’t make an enemy of your problems they can be used as opportunities for deeper growth, if you submit to GOD and let HIM direct your thinking on the topic. Just know that thinking that goes counter to GOD is what the bible calls the flesh and that is enmity with GOD!

Negative perceptions can actually make one unwell.

Keep those thought straight according to God’s Word!!!!

Psalm 92:5 NKJV

“O Lord, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep.”
