Me, Myself and Lies Intro Bible Study!
Do you need a thought closet makeover?
Below you will find the introduction on this bible study. But in addition these files can also be found on Facebook page as well:-) But, I’m going to recap it all here as well and proceed into week 2 from this point forward on the blog.
John 10:11 (NLT) “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.
Researchers have proven the most people have an inner dialog of 150-300 words per minute. The enemy can accuse you from without all day long and it would be quite irritating but not fatal unless you go into agreement with this kind of dialog bout yourself.
What are the nature and quality of your thoughts towards yourself?
This morning in my bible study time GOD it clear to me that we can tell the quality and character of someone spirit by the quality and tone of the words spoken.
Even when God has to say something that appears to be negative and discipline us it is with the purpose of correction and restoration in mind. Never just to hurt, tear down, or to make less.
God’s purpose is always to increase us!
We all have cares and concerns in our thought closets but cares and concerns are meant to be taken to God in prayer and left at the alter. In time, HE will bring the increase!
Don’t fall into the perfection trap even as it pertains to “fixing” your thoughts because perfectionism is is only a set up for felling like a failure.
Instead learn to like yourself on the way to where God is taking you. HE is moving you from glory to glory to glory.
Perfectionism is deeply rooted in pride and none of us can claim the goodness of GOD outside HIS perfect redemptive work on the cross. In other words we are all sinners that miss the ideal mark daily. But that statement is not one of condemnation but instead one that frees us from what would be impossible for us to obtain or maintain.
Bathe in the nature and character that GOD’s very own Word daily that produces life abundantly.
Hebrews 8:13 (NLT) When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear.
Me, Myself and Lies Bible Study Update
1 Corinthians 6:13 (NLT)
You say, “Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.” (This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies.
The task of the immune system is to identify what is of “self” or that which naturally by God’s design belong to the body and that which is non -self foreign or harmful ( from the enemy).
The immune bodily system is not a physical structure but a set of complex interactions.
What constitutes spiritual, emotional or physical fitness?
The immune system on a physical level learns to identify and then recall specific determinants.
In this bible study Me, Myself and Lies we are learning to determine how to develop healthy mental immunity! Because our minds connect with both our physical gates and spiritual ones!
Here are what one can naturally expect to find in almost any thought closet.
Cares and Concerns ( the what if’s, concerns, worries and responsibilities).
Like and dislikes ( personal preferences)
Objectives and goals ( dreams etc.)
Eternity ( our relationship with GOD)
So as we clean out our thought closet lets also take a look at the physical end of the spectrum.
Many elements in our physical environment today can depress immunity.
Chemicals in household cleaners
Overuse of antibiotics
Additives to foods we eat
Exposure to environmental pollutants; even in the air we breathe
The Message (MSG)
17-19 Stick with me, friends. Keep track of those you see running this same course, headed for this same goal. There are many out there taking other paths, choosing other goals, and trying to get you to go along with them. I’ve warned you of them many times; sadly, I’m having to do it again. All they want is easy street. They hate Christ‘s Cross. But easy street is a dead-end street. Those who live there make their bellies their gods; belches are their praise; all they can think of is their appetites.
