Reasons Why My Heart Sings

Never LetHE leads and I follow, that’s the way it must be with GOD!

I feel like I did not accomplish my goal and the enemy got in the way of my heat felt prayer request to GOD.

I asked GOD for greater intimacy with HIM and instead received the most intense and painful trial of my life!!

But closeness to GOD is not one-sided filled with feelings of sweet surrender. There is another side of the cross associated with pain and suffering.

It seems GOD has chosen to share this side of divine soul with me instead of all the warm toasty feelings I had cultivated in my head.

GOD is so much smarter than I and HE sweetly set me up so that both our needs could be met!!!

You see, I long and ache for GOD’s voice period. But instead of speaking to me directly as I thought HE would instead HE speaks to my heart and urges me to HIS word ūüôā

I know you have heard it said that absences makes the heart grow fonder, no where has this been more true in my desire to hear HIS voice.

Did you think that intense desire and longing was just for human to human relationships? Have you given real thought to what intimacy with GOD might be like? What does it mean to HIM and what does that translate into for you and I?

Nearness and a more instant access is what we often envision but I think GOD envisions a situation in which we must search for seek and run hard after HIM. This means that HE will place some things directly within our grasp as it pertains to HIM and other things HE will make us work hard for.

In everyday life do we not work consistently and with great effort on our dearest goals? Can you think back on something that  you really desired and were willing to roll up your sleeves for and commit to for the long haul?

GOD longs for us to desire HIM more than anything else in the world!

My heart sings this week because GOD has accomplished that work  in me because I do desire HIM more than anything else in the world!

Greeting in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

It is a wonderous, worshipfulled Wednesday!

It is now officially one day after Christmas and most are coming down from that mountain top high experience!

Christmas Day¬†is a corporate experience and¬†activity that we can join in and enjoy¬†with others, but what I learned this Christmas¬†that I can take with me and build upon for the rest of this year and into 2013 is this…..

God gives to us each and everyday like it is Christmas. And the deeper blessing is in us seeing these blessings. GOD gives so much that we are all a little short-sighted and unintentionally take many things for granted. But our joy would be so much fuller and vastly richer if we could really experience on purpose each moment of GOD wonderous treasures!

Since we weere created in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ we can on purpose show His generous nature each and every day of our lives. Now, I finally understand that we are more blessed when we give than when we receive.

To  give shows and demonstrates a place and space of bounty! One must have been given something before it can be poured upon others!

My heart sings because I no longer have to wait for the experience of Christmas to roll around once a year, I can now live in this sacred space 365 days each year when I choose to master my focus and place it on Jesus Christ, and when I am intentional in asking HIM to unsettle me so that I can awaken to seeing the sacred in everyday life and when I by giving to others I help to create an atmosphere where love is given the oxygen it needs to thrive in!

In HIS Great Love,

Treasured Thursday Devotional- It’s The Simple Moments That Knit Us Together As A Family

We have this moment to hold in our hand, and to touch as it slips through our fingers like sand. Yesterday’s gone and tomorrow may never come, but we have this moment today~ Gloria Gaither

Does the mention of the P 31 woman make you shake in your boots, wondering if you can ever measure up to those high standards?

Proverbs 31:27-28

New Living Translation (NLT)

27 She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:

Those two little verses say so much! They speak volumes in terms of all we would like to give to our families. And for those of us women that have been called into ministry we take this mandate even more to heart, trying to balance it all effectively and with some finesse.

In my case lately I have been under a very taxing trial and this has added baggage on to my already carefully sectioned task plate.

But the one point I return to over and over is the fact that GOD is in charge so it’s up to HIM to make sure it all works out for my good and the fact that I understand that I am not called to manage task ultra effectively but instead I’m asked by GOD to be mindful and intentional in everything HE allows me to touch.

The Savior once reminded me of the fact that there is nothing, no task or deadline that is more important than my attitude.

With this fact carefully kept in focus I am able to bring a standard to each task that I attend and everyday moments with my family can be made into celebration/ focal points of seeking the Divine and Sacred ( Jesus Christ) more clearly!

Application Point of¬† Focus: The natural enemies to sacred moments being clearly defined, experienced, perceived and celebrated is to be intensely focused on self, rushed and wallowing in the spirit of impatience.¬† These are the areas in which asking for God‘s direct intervention in the form of revelation will open up new avenues of growth so that the energy that is being used in the frustration cycle can be released to live more richly and fully in the moment.

Power Verse: Psalm 90:14

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all of our days.

Let’s Pray, shall we?

Dear God, I pray You would cleanse my heart of all that is not of You. Pour out Your Spirit afresh in my life and wash away all negative attitudes and feelings. Renew my soul so that it is steadfast and strong. Purify my heart pouring into me Your purity and holiness. Align my thoughts with Yours so that the mind of Christ is clearly manifest in me. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me so that I can become the whole person You made me to be.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ we pray… Amen!

The Cross Invites and Rebukes

Any good parent invites their child/children into their hearts unconditionally loving them but there are times that a child’s behavior can cause a parent to have to correct and rebuke an action taken.

God The Father being the best parent ever invites and rebukes with HIS work through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ!

Archbishop Desmond Tutu stated…. ” I can’t for the life of me imagine that God will say. ” I will punish you because you are black, you should have been white. I will punish you because you are a woman, you should have been a man. I will punish you because you are a homosexual, you out to have been heterosexual. I can’t for the life of me believe that is how God sees things.

I agree with two out of three of what this Archbishop stated on the image to your left.

Allow me to explain. The first two examples are not identity issues but facts of God’s creation, coming up against carnal thinking. The third, is a result of an identity crisis. I will acknowledge that identity issue ( such as in the case of homosexual expression) are serious and are often not simply understood. In many cases of a sexual identity crisis such an individual has been sexually or, deeply emotionally abused or having been socially outcast to such a degree that one finds it difficult to fit in comfortably and if another group accepts them freely then a poor substitute for God’s best for them is often the result. The point being is that everywhere I look I see God’s people dealing with issues that seem insurmountable to them and then make decisions as to how to handle the problem according to their own understanding. God tells us in the bible according to…

Proverbs 3:-6

5-12 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
your wine vats will brim over.
But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
don’t sulk under his loving correction.
It’s the child he loves that God corrects;
a father’s delight is behind all this.

All of our problems the ones that are sin related can be over come ( placed in subjection) when we give God first place in our hearts and lives! Our sexuality is not the be all end all and should never be allowed to sit in the drivers seat of our lives. We are created in God’s image and likeness and the grey matter up stair under the direction of the Holy Spirit brings true freedom and the ability to enjoy what God has given in the manner that is pleasing to Him.

At the end of our lives it is GOD alone that we will have to answer to not our bed partners or even religious leaders, but GOD almighty alone so it is only HIS ultimate thought on all of life’s concerns that should keep and demand our attention!

Catchy Rhymes and Rhythmic Beats-Meditative Monday Devotional

When I began dancing again, I was in such high spirits one afternoon that I was dancing and moving to just about anything with a gospel phrase  and swaying beat!

Practicing, my dance hours each day… after all one must respect their craft by studying to show one self approved, right?
On this specific afternoon I as my husband was driving and I was happily bouncing along in the car, I¬† heard these words spoken to me…. Be careful not to get carried off by the music or the beat!

How is it that feelings can change as suddenly as the direction of the wind?

I awoke one morning in March with great joy in my heart, so much so I felt as if I would bust!

So, I jumped up and danced to “Like Never Before” by Shekinah Glory, while tears streamed down my face.

And …. With joy like that I thought all my days of experiencing sorrow were surely behind me:-)

A sneak attack by the enemy out of no where it seems. Confusion set in. Once again, left me wondering….

If other outlets might do the trick?

I searched, but I found them to be shallow and hollow, nothing compares to having the Spirit of God dwell deep inside our hearts( so much so that we are busting at the seams)!

The dance….

The Jackson’s old 70’s tune states….¬† don’t blame it on the sunshine, don’t blame it on the moonlight, don’t blame it on the good-time… blame it on the boogie!

Not even the boogie, the catchy rhymes or rhythmic beats could stir me this time,  while GOD was making a point;  HE demanded my undivided attention!

And here is what HE whispered into my heart…..

No earthly pleasure can compare to my real joy!

For HIS (Jesus Christ) goodness and HIS glory, for the joy inside HIS story is the reason I worship, my own pleasure is secondary and a by-product of true worship!

Now, I’ve learned to build my hope and happiness on nothing less than Jesus,HIS righteousness, hope and healing that HIS Word brings!

Without God’s Word ( that has HIS very Spirit infused in it) what would I even have to dance, sing or write about?

Heaven and earth will disappear, but (GOD) tells us HIS words will remain forever!!!!

Me Myself and Lies Week 3 Introduction

Sure we all have certain preferences as far as physical clothing. But…. our inner issues can often clothe us as well.

What kind of clothing do your issues voice?

What would it take to have a change of perception about those issues?

What are some of the common concerns or fears people have regarding dealing with a long-standing issue?

The longer we deal with a condition the greater the impact and in many cases it affects more than one area of life.

In Mark 5:25-34 we find a woman with an issue of bleeding.

Before you read the text I want you to ask yourself these questions.

1. How might this woman’s issue of bleeding for 12 years have affected her social life?

2. How might this woman’s issue of bleeding for 12 years affected her own sense of self-worth?

3.Do you imagine that this woman felt strong physically and how might her on going lack of physical vitality effected her ability to carry on day-to-day work activities?

4. What kind of strain do you think her long-term ongoing issues of blood might have had on her marriage?

5. Last but not least when joy is low in our lives it absolutely affects our attitude and perceptions towards GOD.

No, maybe not to the extent of not loving GOD or worshiping HIM but prolonged suffering can distort our perceptions we can clearly see this displayed in the book of Job.

Now for the great news… Jesus does heal this woman…..

Mark 5:25-34 NLT

25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding.
26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse.
27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe.
28¬†For she thought to herself, ‚ÄúIf I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.‚ÄĚ
29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.
30¬†Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, ‚ÄúWho touched my robe?‚ÄĚ
31¬†His disciples said to him, ‚ÄúLook at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‚ÄėWho touched me?‚Äô‚ÄĚ
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it.
33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and told him what she had done.
34¬†And he said to her, ‚ÄúDaughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.‚ÄĚ

  • Why do you think the bleeding woman was afraid to admit she was the one who had touched Jesus?

Let me take a stab at this question.

She considered ( thought and felt) herself of low status and rank due to her condition she was considered “unclean” by the social and spiritual standards of her day.

The traditions of men make void the Word of GOD!!!

When one lives in fear for so long and has been show very little kindness it is often easy to assume the worse. After all she devised this plan all on her own and had not spoken with Jesus. Perhaps she felt she was taking something from HIM that HE would not have given had she asked directly. But what we must realize is that nothing but love held Jesus to the cross and nothing but HIS love for us causes HIM to bestow us with a healing. Our faith does not have to be perfectly mature but a perfect seed. Within each seed GOD has placed the DNA for life to spring forth, under the right conditions!!

I’m sure this woman with the issue of blood had heard many wonderful things about Jesus and in her heart she had reached out to HIM spiritually before HE ever reached her geographical space physically.¬† Clearly within her heart GOD kept a space for her to properly receive HIS Son.

Had she been bitter instead of hopeful and then thankful she would have been in the presence of Jesus physically and missed out on a blessing that would change her life!

In what ways have you been thinking with your feelings and according the traditions of men?

Our feelings were designed by GOD to serve us and not meant for us to become their slave!

Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to give us deeper insight into how to have our feelings serve instead of enslave us.

Once you have prayed and inquired of The Holy Spirit share your insights with me right here on this blog:-)

I’d love to bask in the wisdom HE shares with you!!

Our lives by GOD’s design are to be bathed in HIS wisdom ( HIS thoughts, HIS Words and HIS perceptions) and not saturated sense of fragmentation.

Meditative Monday -Weekly Scripture Verse

1 John 3:2-3

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as HE is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Outside influences are not all that are marketed as being able to offer.

Carefully consider what you long for because as you mature you’ll realize that true richness is found in your relationship with Jesus Christ!!

Waking Up Scripture

Do you long to be really spiritually alive?

Then don’t just read this verse this week but commit to placing it in your heart¬† through meditation.

What do I mean by mediation?

It’s simple…….

Just take each word in this scripture verse and ponder its meaning by placing intensive focus on each word. Example …¬† Beloved ( ponder this word) even look it up in a dictionary if necessary to bring a deeper and richer awareness then commit to do the same with each of the following words. I promise ( if you will do this) the process begin wake up a dormant bible verses and help you to bring life to flat words resting in your mind and hearts.

Prayer……..

Lord Jesus, our hope is in You because we are your children.  We want to become all the You have made us to be so continue to work Your perfect process of sanctification in our lives. Let the beauty, purity and hope that is You (Christ) rise up within each of us each day this week and for the rest of our lives so that no matter what the fact of our circumstances are that we will rise up to see ourselves through the eyes of the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things yet to be seen ( faith). We look to You Lord in your infinite wisdom to provide all that we need for our journey at this time.

In the name above all other names Jesus Christ we pray… Amen!!
