Spangled Sunday Devotional -Pit or Faith Eyesight

1 John 4:1

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

Pit or Faith Eyesight

If you must be desperate for something have deep expectation for a move of GOD! In the human experience there will surely come a time in which our endurance and strength will tried beyond what we can bear alone!

Many of us have places in our lives at this very moment where our hope has or is threatening to fade into a dark abyss of despair. Waiting, and waiting and waiting on a break-through can try our soul until we see only ‘dry bones’. When we place our hope in GOD( not just in seeing our circumstances change) we are operating by seeing our circumstances through the eyes of Christ, Jesus as it is by HIS blood that we receive this regenerated spiritual eye sight and are able to abide in hope, faith and love ( no matter our circumstances).

GOD is grace and mercy so by abiding within HIM we can live in the lap blessings, beauty and thanksgiving!

Dismiss, rebuke and turn away from any other account/ news report as vain babbling and a voice not to be relied upon or trusted, if it does not align itself in Word and Spirit with God almighty 🙂

And as far as those circumstances are concerned it’s not over until God says that it’s over.

Ezekiel 37:1-6

1 The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones.
2 He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out.
3 Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.”
4 Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!
5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!
6 I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

Reasons Why My Heart Sings 15

Who is my Mother?

Who is my Father?

Who are my sisters and brothers?

I am a born again Christian.

What exactly does the phase’ born again Christian’ mean?

It means that I have experienced two births.

One brought me into this world and just like you I was born of earthly parents and into a specific blood-line.

Within this earthly blood-line I have a mother, father, grand-parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins!

That was my first birthing experience.

But, my spiritual birth is what makes my heart sing!

This birth was one of my spirit coming to life through the person of Jesus Christ!

How can this be?

It was one very unlikely meeting.

A meeting of life v/s death.

Jesus, is light and life and I before I  joined with HIM was a shell ( a body with some basic wiring brain functions) and accumulated past experiences or memories.

I had a soul that had experienced its share of pleasure and troubles but my spirit was a place of voidness.

Many in the world still mistake that they have a living soul as being interchangeable with being alive spiritually.

The soul and spirit are not the same but communication can and does take place back and forth between the two.

The Spirit of God moved upon the empty/ darkness of my spirit.

And HE spoke LIFE into a place that was once dead as the dead-sea!

These are the Words God spoke directly into my spirit.

John 1:1-5 (NLT) 1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Message Bible  John 1:1-5 The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word. The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one. Everything was created through Him; nothing not one thing!- came into being without Him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.

I knew not this above bible verse by heart through any effort of my own but it was the Holy Spirit that spoke these words unto me and I repeated them out-loud as I lay in my bed one evening with tears in my eyes!

These words brought a deep warmth to my renewed spirit!

I like yourself was born into an earthly family whom I love dearly.

However, Jesus Christ is my closest kinsman and my redeemer so HE is closer and dearer to me than any previous blood ties.

HE shed HIS blood to create a ‘new’ family/bloodline!

God, The Father loves all people and wishes that none should perish.

HE invites all to accept HIS very precious gift ‘Jesus Christ’ ( His only begotten Son) gracious invitation for communion and  fellowship in the dance of eternal life!

So all of you whom share this precious blood-line of Jesus Christ with me are my mother, father, sisters and brothers:-)

Let’s celebrate HIM as the gift that HE is this Holiday Season and let’s not forget that Jesus is the reason for every season!!!!!

Tear Down This Temple

I greet you in the name of theMost High God!

Let’s pray!

Fill me afresh with Your Spirit this day. I let go of all else and open my life to all of You. Enable me to resist the temptations of the flesh that would cause me to stray from the path You have for me. I don’t ever want to minimize all that You want to do in my life. Help me to be ever mindful of Your presence in me, and may I always hear Your clear leading. I want to show my love for You by embracing You with my worship and touching You with my praise. Teach me all I need to know about how to keep my place of worship clean from wordly distractions and how to give myself to You in ways that are pleasing in Your sight.

In the name of Jesus we pray. And let every heart say, Amen!

Our  text for this bible study comes from the book of John.

John 2: 13-17 NLT

13 It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration, so Jesus went to Jerusalem. 14 In the Temple area he saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; he also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money. 15 Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers’ coins over the floor, and turned over their tables. 16 Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!”
17 Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: “Passion for God’s house will consume me.”

In this text we are given a peek into the Father’s heart.

I don’t know about you but I don’t just express anger or irritation over any old thing. It’s only the people, places and situations that matter most to me that are able to get under my skin.

The Temple was first constructed by King Solomon in 1 Kings Chapter 6 and then rebuilt later by King Herod.

The Temple was to be a home for the presence of  The Living God.

Remember the Lord’s presence residing in a portable “Tabernacle” in the desert with the children of Israel?

The offerings for  The Lord’s Tabernacle begin in Exodus 25.

In order to try and understand ‘why’ Jesus would have such an out-burst regarding the spiritual environment in The Temple allow me to pose a few questions.

How would you feel if I acted in such a way that disrespected your living environment or placed things in your home that did not properly represent who you are?

Being a believer in Jesus Christ what if I placed a picture of a Hindu Yogi on your wall and wanted to open your home to teach mystical yoga techniques?

What are some of the feelings that may arise in you , if I were to bring those type activities and atmosphere into your home or your church?

Disgust, hurt and anger are very possible emotions that may surface. And a feelings of being disrespected too!

Remember, Jesus was humanity and divinity all wrapped up inside one package.

Jesus so represented The Father, that their Will was the same, their hearts were sold on the same points and value structure.

The money changers were there to convert currency from one type to another. And the many vendors there in The Temple were brought there as a convenience so that one that might need or desire to make a ‘sacrifice’ would have what they needed at their finger-tips.

It’s kind of like having a talking ATM inside the “church”! speaking to us of the importance of paying our tithes and offerings and all the while printing off information of different types of currency and how to convert them into the dollar! On the surface some might think ‘Oh how convenient for me to with-draw funds for my tithes and offerings right inside the church”!

But all too soon this ‘gesture’ of convenience  would most likely become a distraction from the true focal point of gathering at the Church.

Jesus states ” My Father’s house is a house of prayer not a market-place”!

God’s house meant to honor Him and give Him a permanent place to dwell among His people. It was to be a place where the people could since His presence, hear His voice and send up their prayers. In short it was meant as a place of pure worship of  Him. And this point  was being sorely missed by the money changer and commerce going on inside The Temple.

Jesus acted on the authority that His heavenly Father had given Him to make His this point and ‘clean house’ in The Temple that day.

In order to be prepared to worship God  we need to leave everything but our love and thoughts of Him outside of the Sanctuary!

When our praises ( an act of worship) go up, then blessings come down!

Being able to worship Him and to know Him is the greatest of all blessings and the rest is an out-pouring of His Spirit.

Life Application

How has Jesus cleansed our lives?

What does Jesus still need to clear out of our lives?

What will you ask Jesus to clear out of your life this week?

Jesus Celebrates A Wedding!

Beloved; I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Before we get started let’s pray!

Prayer is a privilege and a power as “saints” that we should never over look or take for granted.

Beloved Heavenly Father we are so thankful for your RSVP to be married and  joined with you some day in heaven in our heavenly home. A place where there are no shadows and all light, as You are the light and the life giver.

Jesus Christ and his earthly ministry painted us a clear picture of ultimately the bridge we have longed for to You Father!

Bless us to make our daily lives a celebration of Your glory in which You turn the ordinary waters of life into wine through the celebration of Your love between a man and woman.

May we be filled-up with the “new wine” that is Your Spirit!

With this new Spirit we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us.

Lord let us know when our hour has arrived, so that the plans that you have for our lives can unfold before those that need to hear our unique stories of salvation. Each of our stories share the way you “saved” us and Your are capable of drawing out the souls that are still in desperate search of that something, that someone that they have yet to even name. And we know that that precious something is the work of the cross and that special someone is Jesus Christ. Thank you Father for saving the best wine for the end of the celebration so the we can enjoy it once finally joined with you in our heavenly home.

In the name above all names we pray… Jesus

Have you visited my website this week?
If not; go on over and listen to this week’s audio devotionalJesus:Barabbas Is Freed Then come back to this blog to finish reading this week’s Bible Study.. From Water to Wine! I’ll see you back here in a few minutes:-)

Did you enjoy the devotional? I pray that you did! Now, to get started on this week’s Bible Study.

Here are the verses that we will discuss this week. Please take a few minutes to read the text so that we can all enter into this discussion with the knowledge of the bible text that is being expounded upon.

John 2:1-12 (MSG)

1 Three days later there was a wedding in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there. 2 Jesus and his disciples were guests also. 3 When they started running low on wine at the wedding banquet, Jesus’ mother told him, “They’re just about out of wine.” 4 Jesus said, “Is that any of our business, Mother—yours or mine? This isn’t my time. Don’t push me.” 5 She went ahead anyway, telling the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.” 6 Six stoneware water pots were there, used by the Jews for ritual washings. Each held twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus ordered the servants, “Fill the pots with water.” And they filled them to the brim. 8 “Now fill your pitchers and take them to the host,” Jesus said, and they did. 9 When the host tasted the water that had become wine (he didn’t know what had just happened but the servants, of course, knew), he called out to the bridegroom, 10 “Everybody I know begins with their finest wines and after the guests have had their fill brings in the cheap stuff. But you’ve saved the best till now!” 11 This act in Cana of Galilee was the first sign Jesus gave, the first glimpse of his glory. And his disciples believed in him. 12 After this he went down to Capernaum along with his mother, brothers, and disciples, and stayed several days.
The Water to Wine miracle actually kicks off Jesus’ ministry as the first sign that HE is the “Anointed One“.
Spiritually speaking Water to Wine is symbolic of “transformation” but in this bible study session we are going to focus on the wedding! I have provided some nice links below for those that want to read more on the miracle and transformative aspects of Jesus changing water to wine at the Cana wedding.

Godly love shared between a man and a woman is trans-formative in nature!
With all of the important issues going on in that day and the fact the the Jewish people were subjugated to the Romans;  would not Jesus have spent His time best “fighting” Rome with the powers that His Heavenly Father had given Him?
Instead we find Jesus enjoying Himself at his cousins wedding! Perhaps part of what made this such a joyous occasion  was seeing ahead in time HIS wedding ceremony with the body of Christ:-)
This wedding of His cousin’s took place in Cana Galilee about 7 miles north of Nazareth (Jesus’ hometown).
Also, back in those days wedding feast could last up to 7 days!
The Lord our GOD has ordained marriage by a man a woman.
A wedding is symbolic of our eternal commitment to Jesus Christ and HE first commands us to love HIM and then HE commands us to as husband and wife love one another. So as believers in Jesus Christ when we marry we are holding foundational of the oracles  of GOD before the world! This is why our life in HIM must come before joining with another soul and this is also why it is important to allow GOD to choose our mates. Pray to GOD for guidance even before dating!! If you omit this step, then you could develop feelings for someone that GOD has not chosen as your life long partner. Emotional and physical attraction alone should not be the deciding factor.
The choice to marry has to be righteous spiritually first and foremost by allowing the Holy& Righteous One to be the head of our lives in every way. We are to trust in the Lord our GOD with all of our hearts and lean not on our own understanding by acknowledging Him in all of our ways then HE will direct our paths!
Our life’s purposes and that of our potential mate must be aligned in Christ.
It is only within a union/marriage rooted and grounded between us ( HIS Church or body) with Jesus Christ that is capable of bringing forth life Spiritually.
What good is a relationship that is dead spiritually but alive with ungodly soul ties, emotion and physical love (sex)?
We are made in the image and likeness of GOD and we are tri-fold beings.
Satisfying the true needs of our spiritual personage ( the Holy Spirit) that has come to live on the inside of us is placing things in proper order. It’s a matter of giving GOD first fruits, then HE properly orders the rest.
The earthly union between the man and the woman is to bring forth more Godly seed and we are to cultivate a place and atmosphere for each family member to be nourished and to flourish to the glory of GOD!
So keeping all these things in mind it should not surprise us to see Jesus at this wedding celebrating and blessing the union by His mere presence! When two or more people gather in the Lord’s name HE is in their mist ( and weddings were ordained by HIM before the beginning of time as we know it.
Time as we know time began at”The Fall” in the Garden of Eden. When Satan, that old serpent tricked and beguiled Eve.
So that we are crystal clear on the meaning of both wedding and marriage let’s list them below.
Wedding: the act or ceremony of marrying; marriage; nuptials.

Marriage: the  institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by ,  spiritual/religious ceremonies, legal commitments etc
