Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Lets un-pack this little verse, shall we?
Charm is deceitful:
Refers that one can have the ability to wield words and that has a command of the language but uses this gift solely for personal gain by flattering another by using seductive words. Things that sound good to our inner ears!
Beauty is passing:
As each year goes by we have to be more mindful of taking care of ourselves( especially as women)! What once was given to us as a “gift” that we did not have to earn or work for as time passes we have to learn other “wisdom” principles in order to preserve some of the natural beauty GOD gave us in our youth! Some of us can become ensnared in our psyches “chasing” the virtues of youth. Rising cost to purchase cosmetic products, beauty clinics, and even plastic surgery!! Where does it all end? How far should we go to preserve the virtues of youth? There is a lasting and deeper form of beauty that we must learn to cultivate and nurture!
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised:
There are many worth while things we can get involved in while present on this earth. These worth while things are tied up in our earthy purpose but destiny implies heaven and all works that are not wood, stubble or hay. Things that have gone through GOD’s refining/purifying fires and that have been “tested” and proven as either bronze, sliver or gold!
It is only the bronze, silver and gold works that will pass with us into our eternal destinies the woman or man who fears the LORD will carry the praise our their LORD in their hearts now and for an eternity. When we receive praises from others, it is because they see the radiant countenance of Christ Jesus upon us.
Until next time,
