Never LetHE leads and I follow, that’s the way it must be with GOD!

I feel like I did not accomplish my goal and the enemy got in the way of my heat felt prayer request to GOD.

I asked GOD for greater intimacy with HIM and instead received the most intense and painful trial of my life!!

But closeness to GOD is not one-sided filled with feelings of sweet surrender. There is another side of the cross associated with pain and suffering.

It seems GOD has chosen to share this side of divine soul with me instead of all the warm toasty feelings I had cultivated in my head.

GOD is so much smarter than I and HE sweetly set me up so that both our needs could be met!!!

You see, I long and ache for GOD’s voice period. But instead of speaking to me directly as I thought HE would instead HE speaks to my heart and urges me to HIS word 🙂

I know you have heard it said that absences makes the heart grow fonder, no where has this been more true in my desire to hear HIS voice.

Did you think that intense desire and longing was just for human to human relationships? Have you given real thought to what intimacy with GOD might be like? What does it mean to HIM and what does that translate into for you and I?

Nearness and a more instant access is what we often envision but I think GOD envisions a situation in which we must search for seek and run hard after HIM. This means that HE will place some things directly within our grasp as it pertains to HIM and other things HE will make us work hard for.

In everyday life do we not work consistently and with great effort on our dearest goals? Can you think back on something that  you really desired and were willing to roll up your sleeves for and commit to for the long haul?

GOD longs for us to desire HIM more than anything else in the world!

My heart sings this week because GOD has accomplished that work  in me because I do desire HIM more than anything else in the world!

Ice PrincessPerformance Based Love

Praying for GOD to answer her prayers to serve HIM and give HIM all led HIM to have to do something drastic…. HE placed her in need ( intense desire of HIM) in order melt this very beautiful yet unproductive fortress!

I really used to  like the picture to the left and that spirit and I ( The Icy Princess ) had a long lived affinity for each other for too many years of my life.

She is beautiful but untouchable! The cold iciness of her demeanor offers a barrier between her and the world around her ( an icy fortress ).

Very little can get in or out of this crystallized existence!

Has the Ice Princess ever tried to lay claim to your soul?

Well today’s devotional is dedicated to that removal of that icy mask and all that is good that this iciness places a freeze on.

Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains may move
and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain.
My covenant of blessing will never be broken,”
says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

I had a friend whom I loved dearly and since I loved her so and took every opportunity to show her; I intensely wanted the same in return. Inwardly I struggled with anger when she did not return my affection in the same measure ( actually no where close ).

I remember bringing my grievance to the LORD and pouring my heart out to HIM. When HE replied HIS response momentarily took my breath away. HE simply stated that my friend had the right to choose whom she loved. Not from an agape-love perspective but in terms of her personal preferences.

The warmth and truth of God’s love began to melt the Ice Princess syndrome that wanted to set it self up around my heart. You know that cool as a cucumber icy crunchiness, that I could give a flip about you air.

Lessons in love are not easy and they often come with a melting away of the flesh ( meaning ungodly mindsets and reasoning.

The fact of the matter is sometimes GOD works it out in such a way that we love other people more deeply and personally than they love us and we must learn not to punish them with coldness and icy stares  for having a different taste and preferences than our own.

Christ loves us much more than we love HIM, but does that stop HIM from being exactly what and who HE is?

In order to be true to myself in the instance above I had to just admit that I loved this woman deeply as a friend and that I would not with-hold my affection just because she did not respond in equal measured kind.

Love just is and it is not based on the performance of the object of love. We love because GOD placed it as a part of our very nature.

Intimacy ( warmth and closeness)  with GOD will cost me all of my iciness I don’t need anybody aloofness!

The warm breath of GOD’s love reverberates in the world on the just and the unjust because HE is love and mercy!!!

Reasons Why My Heart Sings 28

Greeting in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

It is a wonderous, worshipfulled Wednesday!

It is now officially one day after Christmas and most are coming down from that mountain top high experience!

Christmas Day is a corporate experience and activity that we can join in and enjoy with others, but what I learned this Christmas that I can take with me and build upon for the rest of this year and into 2013 is this…..

God gives to us each and everyday like it is Christmas. And the deeper blessing is in us seeing these blessings. GOD gives so much that we are all a little short-sighted and unintentionally take many things for granted. But our joy would be so much fuller and vastly richer if we could really experience on purpose each moment of GOD wonderous treasures!

Since we weere created in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ we can on purpose show His generous nature each and every day of our lives. Now, I finally understand that we are more blessed when we give than when we receive.

To  give shows and demonstrates a place and space of bounty! One must have been given something before it can be poured upon others!

My heart sings because I no longer have to wait for the experience of Christmas to roll around once a year, I can now live in this sacred space 365 days each year when I choose to master my focus and place it on Jesus Christ, and when I am intentional in asking HIM to unsettle me so that I can awaken to seeing the sacred in everyday life and when I by giving to others I help to create an atmosphere where love is given the oxygen it needs to thrive in!

In HIS Great Love,

Jennifer Boddie

Psalm 12:2

New Living Translation (NLT)

2 Neighbors lie to each other,
speaking with flattering lips and deceitful hearts.

Has God ever met blessed you and then the greatest trail in your life as a believer came down the pike?

Back in February 2012 this is exactly what happened to me!!!!

In 2011 many of you signed up to receive my blog post as I had began a weekly log of posting reasons I am thankful and these post were dedicated to GOD!

At that point although I had my challenges I was moving along in a very comfortable and familiar place with GOD.

Not that I ever thought I could predict HIM and the way HE would choose to further my dependence upon HIM and HIM alone; but I must admit what HE next permitted to take place in my life was not something that I could have ever imagined or braced myself for.

I stopped posting under “Reasons Why My Heart Sings” for more than 8 months because I was coming out of trauma and although deeply thankful my heart was not singing ( it was crying).

This trial that Our Lord permitted shook me deeply and I briefly wondered about my very sanity as Satan challenged my perception of the limits of  my salvation! But then God helped me to began to experience HIS deep sense of grace and mercy thus I feel in the deep sea of HIS love all over again, but HIS love felt even vaster and HIS life giving water sweeter and wetter to my dehydrated  soul because it was HIM and HIM alone that breathed life back into me and I know it.

All GOD said to me just before the testing began is that my identity was about to be challenged!!!

I feel that the word challenged was a bit of an understatement but in the end it is not what I feel that matters as much as HIS truth.

Which brings me to this weeks topic…… Prayer!

I have done more praying since April of 2012 than I have in my whole life as a born again Christian.

God has has taught me more about the process of prayer this year than I could imagine.

First I want to say that prayer to GOD should be based in love and on that which is true, good and of lovely report:-)

Prayer at first glance seems such an easy and uncomplicated means of communication. And at it’s core it is simple and beautiful in its original design!

The power of prayer is truly a gift from GOD, but like all gifts we must be deeply aware of the instrument we have at our disposal.

When we pray are we responsible with this power that we are wielding?

Are we yielding our hearts to GOD and allowing HIM to direct and guide our prayers?

There are many type of prayers that we can pray.

Not that GOD is unintelligent and knows not what to do with our prayers just the way we pray them but for the sake of spiritual growth please take a stroll down this lane with me.

When in conversation with another human being  do we not let that person know when we just need someone to talk in order to bounce ideas off or to vent some of our frustrations?

Have you ever vented your frustrations and formed them into prayers to GOD about other people?

It is okay to vent to GOD but it is not okay to pray against other people.

Prayer is a sacred form of communication between us and a Holy GOD!

We are made in HIS image and likeness but one major difference between us and HIM is  that HE has never had a relationship with sin and you and I are recovering from ( being sanctified) step by step on a daily basis from the effects sin has had on us. This means that our perceptions can misfires on occasions about people, places and situations.

We should always take the high road, not just on how we speak to people face to face but even in prayer.

When tough words of truth need to be spoken to another they should be done so under the direction of the Holy Spirit and submerged in HIS love!

Here are some other points that are helpful in all communication; even in prayer our conversation should glorify GOD first and foremost, then we should esteem others above ourselves, thirdly lets ask GOD to forgive us of our sins ( because even when we miss them they are present) fourthly we need to ask GOD to give us HIS supernatural ability to love others so that we can forgive them when they hurt us (either on purpose or by mistake). We all have weaknesses and lets remember to ask GOD to keep those from being exploited by those that do not love HIM or us. Lets be big boys and girls and take our medicine from GOD when necessary ( meaning being rebuked ) as a point of great honor because only true sons and daughters are disciplined by their loving Heavenly Father! Lastly, learning to pray that the Will of The Father be done in our lives keeps us from yielding unto the spirit of witchcraft and trying to  use prayer as a means of forcing our will upon others!

Lord, I am thankful that you have created a hotline from earth to Heaven in which your people can speak with you. Where we would be without this method of communication with you I do not wish to know. Lord, you are not interested in hearing us slander each other verbally and disguising it as communication with you! Deliver us from using prayer as a means of evil speaking!!!! In Jesus name we pray AMEN.

Faith v/s speculation

Proverbs 20:6-7

Many will say they are loyal friends,
but who can find one who is truly reliable?

7 The godly walk with integrity;
blessed are their children who follow them.

So you have been wanting things to change in your world for quite sometime so that you can get your piece of the”American Pie”
and the lotto just became popular in your state and your desire for more is burning hot enough to consider legalized gambling. Besides, there are much worse things going on in the world than the state lotto and it does help with the education system, so by participating in the process  you’re helping someone other than yourself, right?

Keep in mind, none of this will keep you out of heaven, but for those that want to polish up the fruit of temperance, a divinely balanced virtue of displaying the right blend of reserve and force, come alone for today’s lesson!

Many in the body or Christ or The Church have often wondered secretly within their own hearts; what is the problem with legalized  gambling for self betterment, recreation and or relaxation on occasion?

It’s an issue of where or whom you are placing your hope and faith in from God’s perspective and HIS perspective is the only one that matters now and in eternity!

The Kingdom of GOD is an entire system and way of thinking, being and living. So, therefore it is a holistic process and all of our needs are covered within HIS system and we do not have to more outside and around it to prosper.

God is not pleased with our lukewarmness or the giving of ourselves in fragments or portions.

HE wants it all, because HE gave ALL to us first while we were yet sinners, HE died on the cross for our sins!!!!!!

The Bible tells us is impossible to please GOD without faith, that is faith in HIM! And prosperity is not just monetary but it entails the psychological and spiritual as well; when GOD gives increase it always starts spiritually first and trickles down into the other two realms.

What hurts God more than anything is when we love idols and not HIM and place our trust which should be kept safely in HIS care to another system.

In loving and supporting my King and Lord, Jesus Christ why would I in vanity by waste the hard earned  substance HE has given me the strength and intelligence to earn on anything that does not glorify HIM?

In the Kingdom of GOD we believe communication with GOD through prayer and HIS ability to bless and prosper us because HE created all that is. So,through the process called “faith” seeing without or past physical eye-sight alone, we happily place our destinies in the care of a loving, all knowing and holy GOD. The enemy is a cheap counterfeiter and many in the world seek though the sport of speculation, to get lucky. Gambling is unintelligent because it places one’s destiny in the hands of invisible dice or the process of chance.

When God is not sitting on the throne, who or what has taken HIS place in our hearts and minds?

Psalm 117:2

For he loves us with unfailing love;
the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever.

Praise The Lord!!!!

Peeking behind GOD’s veil has been a fascination of mine for the last 12 years of my life!

I don’t know, perhaps/ maybe that is why HE called me to share HIS Word with others!

As an inspiring teacher what I have found is that God is the best teacher I know! He never ceases to use a moment or one life experience as a means of revealing more about HIMSELF us and HIS awesome plans for us separately and collectively.

I have a question for you ( my friends) today.

What if you were viewed as being of a lesser status by some faction in society; would you have the nerve the guts to go to said establishment without malice or anger in your heart and still petition for what your needs?

Mark 7:24-30 New Living Translation Second Edition

24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret.25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit,26 and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.

Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia,27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews.  It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”
28 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”
29 “Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.”30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.

This passage above has caused many to take offense by mentioning of the word dog as it pertains to people and the eating of scraps from under a table.

But this morning GOD gave me a lovely illustration of how food scraps in the hands of proficient homemaker can become her family’s next meal.Scraps are not the same as trash and can be skillfully woven together to make an eye please delicious meal!

And the mention of the word ‘dog’ refers to a spiritually unclean condition and at that time in history the oracles of GOD had not been shared with the rest of the world (gentiles) and were exclusive to the seed of Abraham or what is more commonly known as the Jews.

And it’s true, one would feed the family members first before feeding the family pet any of the left over scraps. Jesus was born Jewish and therefore the Jewish people represented family in terms of heritage purely on a physical plane of life.

Jesus Christ is able to do away with the strict adherence to so many outer ordinances in favor of a deeper revelation of their inner meaning because HE is the perfect fulfillment of all that the Law entailed!

And we as gentiles ( non Jewish by birth) are no longer seen as “unclean” spiritually when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Mark 7:17-23 New Living Translation Second Edition

17 Then Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowd, and his disciples asked him what he meant by the parable he had just used.18 “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you?19 Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)
20 And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you.21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

2 Samuel 24: 21-24

21 “Why have you come, my lord the king?” Araunah asked. David replied, “I have come to buy your threshing floor and to build an altar to the Lord there, so that he will stop the plague.”
22 “Take it, my lord the king,

and use it as you wish,” Araunah said to David. “Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and you can use the threshing boards and ox yokes for wood to build a fire on the altar.
23 I will give it all to you, Your Majesty, and may the Lord your God accept your sacrifice.”
24 But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing.” So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen.Love and Sacrifice…..

Very often go hand in hand like rights and responsibilities!

You just can not enjoy one without accepting the other!

My husband bought me some multicolored roses yesterday and today as I was trimming back the leaves so that they would have more space between each flower and cutting the dead ends off so that the steams can adsorb more of the water and nutrients that they are placed in I noticed the thorns on each rose.

And GOD clearly pointed out to me the beauty of each rose is enough and the fact that there are thorns on each rose steam does not keep us from celebrating the beauty of the rose and the communication of love placed on the giving and receiving in this common exchange.

When we love we’re willing to roll up our sleeves do our part and even sacrifice if necessary. I have heard many shy away from GOD because they are afraid that at some point their relationship with HIM may call upon them to stand by HIM in good times in times of trial and persecution.

What I want most to share with all of you is that there is a beauty, joy and sense of worth connected with loving GOD ( the rose part of the relationship) that makes the trials ( thorns) not able to measure up to the gift loved shared between you and GOD.

Never run away from love because you are afraid of being stuck by thorns!

Hebrews 9:8-15

8 By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the entrance to the Most Holy Place was not freely open as long as the Tabernacle and the system it represented were still in use.
9 This is an illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them.
10 For that old system deals only with food and drink and various cleansing ceremonies—physical regulations that were in effect only until a better system could be established.

Christ Is the Perfect Sacrifice

11 So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world.
12 With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
13 Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.
14 Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
15 That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
